Federation have announced that international best selling author Santa Montifiore will be the guest speaker at the ACM. Also find out how the Royal Navy operates with an informative, entertaining and thought provoking presentation covering a wide spectrum of missions.

2012 Calendar
The theme for the 2012 calendar will be "Wiltshire Weather" which gives lots of scope for some really interesting photographs. For the reverse of your pictures we are being asked for "Weather Lore". Sorry, "Red sky at night" won't cut it.
You don't have to be an expert so, get busy with your camera and if your photograph is chosen you will receive a free calendar.
Photographs must be in landscape format and entries must be received at WI House by 30th Dec 2010.

Wiltshire Federation Craft Competition
Wiltshire WI Members are challenged to take part in this competition and see if they can win the Craft Cup. The competition is for an item, in any medium, made from something recycled. Max size 20" x 20".

Canada 2011
This may seem along time ahead but the Federation is planning another trip to Canada, this time to eastern Canada and the home of WI in October 2011. Collette Worldwide Travel is again arranging the trip visiting Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto as well as Niagara Falls and Stoney Creek where we will lunch with Canadian Members. Each WI will receive full details in due course but if you or your friends are interested and would like to receive your own leaflet please speak to Vicki.

The Real Jam Festival
A new competition which will bring together the best of the best preserve connoisseurs, to find the best jar of jam for 2010.
This two day event is open to all and will include prize giving, an array of displays, local fresh produce stalls and refreshments.

Channel 4
The idea of the series is to restore traditional values to families across Britain in order to restore the life/work balance and encourage a return to traditional ways of homemaking, domestic pleasure, childrearing etc. To do this they are looking for up to three older ladies to present the show and impart their values to modern families. The ladies should have strong views on discipline, relationships, traditional gender roles, house keeping and parenting. BBC 2 "Who does that?"
A new programme for BBC2 which is being made by Talkback Thames, makers of The Apprentice and Grand Designs is looking for participants. They are looking for couples or mums/dads who have older children living at home (18+) who might be interested in taking part. The WI Design Award 2009/10
The Education Committee of NFWI is proud to launch the WI Design Award 2009/10. The aim of the award is to encourage WI members to produce a story board showing background information, research and design work of something that they feel reflects 'Life in Modern Times'. Lady Denman Cup Competition -
"Every Picture Tells A Story"
You are invited to write a short story based on a black and white photograph (please spk Vicki for a copy). Stories must be no longer than 500 words and members may interpret the photograph as they wish. Enteries may be in English or Welsh. Only one entry per member will be accepted. There will be a book token prize and the winner will be presented the cup at the NFWI AGM 2011
